Provides community education, advocacy, referral, training, and assists with connecting individuals to services as needed. Helps establish relationships with referral sources in order to help connect families and clients with needed behavioral health services and resources including necessary funding sources.


Education: Bachelor's degree in behavioral health-related field required.

Licensure: N/A

Experience: Experience in the field of behavioral health. Experience in health related promotion and public relations is desirable.

Knowledge/Skills: Verbal/written communication skills.

Ability to safely operate motor vehicle.

Ability to effectively address individual, small and large groups.


Computer, general office equipment, motor vehicle and any other equipment required to perform the functions of the position.


  1. Demonstrate knowledge of requirements for clients in the Behavioral Health Safety Net for Children and for Adults.
  2. Obtain necessary training in the reporting requirements for this program as outlined by TDMHSAS.
  3. Provide outreach education, advocacy, promotion, referral, training, and assistance for families to enroll in BHSN programs throughout the eight Northeast TN counties served by Frontier Health.
  4. Assists families with securing services as needed.
  5. Establish and maintain working relationships with child-serving agencies in order to promote the BHSN programs.
  6. Adhere to all program standards and requirements of the BHSN for Children grant.
  7. Maintain documentation required for the BHSN for Children program reports.
  8. Continue to increase knowledge and stay current with Behavioral Health Safety Net funded services and programs.
  9. Will submit monthly reports outlining outreach and referral efforts to State BHSN of TN staff in a format prescribed by the state.
  10. All other duties as assigned.
